Ipera Announces Pixel Xtream® L2200 and L2200P HD/SD Streaming Media
Transcoding Appliances for Live Web and Broadcast Video Delivery

Redwood Shores, CA (September 10, 2009)Ipera Technology announced today that the latest additions to the company’s Pixel Xtream enterprise-level transcoding and encoding product line for broadcast and web video professionals are now available. The Pixel Xtream L2200 rack mount and L2200P portable steaming media appliances add live video ingest and streaming output capabilities to the company’s high performance Pixel Xtream transcoder, bringing Ipera’s always-on intelligent enhancement mode with its superior video quality and low-touch operation to live HD & SD video steaming for the first time.

Combined with the same powerful features offered in the Pixel Xtream transcoder such as simple setup, blazing processing speed, an intuitive GUI and workflow, and side-by-side instant preview, the L2200/L2200P appliances also offer expanded professional video format support that includes MXF, live HD & SD video capture, ingest to file, and live HD & SD streaming output.

At the heart of Ipera’s transcode solutions is the built-in Pixel Magic® intelligent enhancement engine and the unique always-on enhancement mode. The Pixel Xtream engine applies enhancements only when and as needed – without operator intervention. This results in consistently better video quality, lower bit-rates, and dramatically improved productivity. Pixel Magic removes noise, distortions and artifacts, and boosts visual quality with sharper contrast, improved brightness, more vibrant color and natural skin-tones, sharper edges and details. It also delivers the highest quality motion-compensated de-interlacing, and superior scaling which preserves details without creating artifacts.

“Built upon our Pixel Magic video enhancement technology, the Pixel Xtream L2200/L2200P appliances continue our commitment to delivering the highest video quality and processing speed available in the market, while introducing new features to further meet the needs of our professional users”, said Ian Xie, CEO of Ipera. “These products will help our customers get their work done better, faster, and more cost-effectively.”

The Pixel Xtream L2200 rack mount & L2200P portable streaming media transcoding appliances support the following input and output formats tailored to a wide range of production needs:
