Ipera Adds Pixel Magic™ SE Video Enhancement Technology
Support for Full Range of X-86 Based PCs and Servers
Futureproofs Delivery of Dramatically Improved Video Quality at Low
Power
for PCs Ranging from Video Servers to Pocket Size PCs, Laptops and
Desktops.
Barcelona, Spain (February 11, 2008)
– Ipera Technology, Inc. announced today that it will showcase the
expanding applications for its
Pixel
Magic™ Video Enhancement Technology on PCs at its GSMA Mobile World
Congress Booth #7A62 in Barcelona, February 11-15. Offering an amazing
improvement in video quality and exceptionally low power requirements,
Pixel
Magic supports
virtually any video codec and any video application
on any PC.
Easily
adapted to ensure compatibility with current and future formats, Pixel
Magic
SE
offers compelling
solutions to OEMs and ODMs who want to
quickly bring their video and imaging products to market with a
visual quality that sets them apart from the competition.
Pixel
Magic SE innovative algorithms can even be adjusted to support
next-generation PCs such as the laptop
PCs with built-in mobile broadband
that are
being promoted by Microsoft and the GSMA.
In 2007, 22.4 billion views were logged for User Generated Videos (UGV),
up 70 percent from 2006. Most of these videos were generated on cell
phones or low-quality recording equipment, making the viewing experience
less than desirable. Pixel Magic SE technology is designed to meet the
demand of this fast growing market. By integrating Pixel Magic SE
technology on the video server side, the video can be enhanced to
provide better quality video and experience to the end users. Also, by
eliminating noise and video artifacts, Pixel Magic SE increases the
compression ratio, therefore reducing the bandwidth requirements for the
video transmission
Ipera’s new patent-pending core technology solves quality issues in
video applications by reducing and/or totally eliminating distortions
generated by various types of codecs, as well as noise and imperfections
inherent in sensors and LCD displays. In particular, Pixel Magic SE
includes contrast and brightness enhancement, skin tone and color
enhancement and correction, edge and detail enhancement and video signal
boosting tailored specifically for LCD displays.
Pixel Magic
SE is compatible with all video codec formats, including H.264, VC1,
DivX®, MPEG-1/2/4, H.263, WMV, FLV, raw video and any future format.
All CPU/DSP architectures
are supported as well as all current and future VLSI manufacturing
processes.
Availability
Requiring only about 100kbytes of storage, Pixel Magic can run under
Linux as well as Windows CE, XP and Vista. Ipera licenses its core
technology as PC software, as embedded software
for portable consumer devices powered by DSP or microprocessors, and as
system-on-a-chip (SoC) solutions for IC
companies.
